World Championship Muay-Thai Boxing show "Business as Usual" was
staged at it's new home 'The Pavillion" at Chester Racecourse on
Sunday 22nd June. A full day of fighting thrilled the massive
audience and Chesters' Dave Newbrook gained his 3rd world title
after demolishing his Lithuanian challenger who was ranked 3rd in
the World at Light Welterweight.
Stunning body shots rained in on the game Lithuanian before a peach
of an uppercut under the ribs finished the job in the 3rd round.
European under 18 champ John Henry McNamara also triumphed over his
Lithuanian challenger and knocked out his opponent with a fabulous
flying knee to the jaw.
Danny Goodwin in his maiden fight defeated the seasoned Gordon Speed
but Danny's younger brother Ashley lost narrowly on points.
As always a donation from the show will go to Miles of Smiles.

Successful local company Sykes Holiday Cottages are making plans to
spread the spirit of Christmas by joining forces with Miles of
Smiles, the well-known local charity. Instead of sending each other
Christmas cards, the 34-strong staff will instead make a donation to
the Miles of Smiles appeal. Sykes Cottages hopes to raise around
£250 in all, and the association may not end there. “We hope to work
with Miles of Smiles again in the future” says Clive Sykes (Managing
Director) “and possibly even team up to offer UK holidays to some of
the families the charity works with”.
Sykes Cottages began at Clive’s mums kitchen table in 1992, and has
grown to an impressive portfolio of over 1000 good quality, good
value self catering properties in England, Scotland, Wales and most
recently Ireland. Their 230 page 2008 colour brochure is out now,
and showcases the wide variety of properties on offer. Their website
–
www.sykescottages.co.uk - allows visitors to search
availability, view internal and external photographs, see feedback
from previous customers and make use of its online reservation and
payment options. |
